Job Description

As an Environmental Services Aide, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards by disinfecting bathrooms, floors, and patient contact areas such as beds, vents, televisions, and light fixtures. Additional tasks include general cleaning and upkeep of all rooms, cabinets, countertops, floors, corridors, walls, restrooms, and the building's exterior. You will also be responsible for trash removal and ensuring the availability of cleaning supplies.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect all rooms, cabinets, countertops, floors, corridors, walls, restrooms, and the building's exterior daily.Remove trash and ensure proper disposal several times a day.Account for cleaning inventory and coordinate with procurement for supply needs.Clean and disinfect vents, furniture, woodwork, and bathroom fixtures such as showers and taps.Perform spot cleaning services and sanitize bathrooms properly.Vacuum and shampoo carpets and rugs in patient rooms, lobby areas, and staff offices.Make beds and load linen carts, transporting them to necessary areas such as patient rooms and surgical areas.

Essential Skills

Experience in janitorial, sanitation, and facilities maintenance.Ability to clean and sanitize effectively.Background in hospital cleaning, janitorial duties, and housekeeping.Experience in sweeping, mopping, general labor, and sanitizing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Attention to detail.Reliability and great attendance.Presentable appearance and good attitude.Experience in janitorial services, hotels, or food industries is a plus but not required.

Work Environment

The position is located at a care facility in Ithaca, NY. The shift is Monday to Friday from 5 PM to 12:30 AM, totaling 35 hours per week. Every third week, the schedule includes working Saturday and Sunday for three hours each day.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
