Job Title: IV Intake Ins Ver Spec-HC Department: Lifetime Care Billing Location: RRH Home Infusion Therapy - 2975 Brighton Henrietta Townline Road Rochester, NY Hours Per Week: 40 Hours - Full Time Schedule: Monday - Friday day shift 8:30a-5p SUMMARY: Responsible for the intake process for patients referred to Lifetime Pharmacy LLC in regards to all aspects of member’s home IV therapy medical insurance benefit, eligibility, patient financial responsibility and policy prior authorization requirements. Assure that all necessary actions are taken to obtain the most complete insurance coverage and Provider reimbursement. Performs office functions which will facilitate efficient and accurate processing of referrals for Infusion and Sub Q injection therapy for the delivery of superior patient care. Promotes patient satisfaction with Lifetime Care Home Health and Hospice services and Lifetime Pharmacy, LLC. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: + Identifies and determines in accordance with established policies and procedures the accuracy and completeness of home IV insurance and/or demographic information for patient admissions. + Data entry of patient demographic information into computer system. + Provides administrative functions to maintain accurate and organized demographic and intake records for all patients receiving Infusion/Sub Q therapies. + Communicates with Insurance companies to obtain authorization of services to be provided and verifies patient’s insurance benefits and assesses patient financial responsibility. + Communicates the necessary Information to the Lifetime Care Home Care Coordinators so the patient, the Coordinator, and the Physician can make decisions on how to proceed with the plan of care. + Maintains knowledge of ALLSCRIPTS and CPR+ software systems as well as online websites for Insurance companies. + Answers calls and obtains pertinent information quickly and accurately to identify and assess caller’s needs and determine action steps to satisfy those needs while ensuring a high level of service. + Assists as needed in facilitating the overall processing operations of the IV/Sub Q intake functions. + Processing of administrative tasks such as copying, faxing, referral distribution and other computer-generated assignments. + Responds knowledgeably and professionally to inquiries regarding Lifetime Care Home Health and Hospice services and programs. + Collects and documents data, generates and distributes reports. + Maintains a high level of knowledge of home infusion insurance rules and regulations and evaluates payer specific rules that apply to each referral. + Assists with special projects, activities and performs other duties as assigned by management. + Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies’ mission and values and adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct. + Maintains high regard for member privacy in accordance with the corporate privacy policies and procedures. + Regular and reliable attendance is required. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: + High School diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience in a health care environment. + 2-3 years of customer service experience required, including home infusion insurance knowledge and experience. + Knowledge of medical terminology. + Ability to interpret electronic data and apply it to customer service calls. + Strong communication skills. + Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills. + Attention to detail and quality focused. + Excellent time management and organizational skills. + Ability to handle a changing work environment and to prioritize activities. + Proven ability to work in a team environment. + Strong data entry skills and proficiency use of a PC. (word/excel required) EDUCATION: LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: S - Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for brief periods of time. PAY RANGE: $17.50 - $21.58 CITY: Rochester POSTAL CODE: 14623 The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components.
