IT Systems Engineer Principal
**Description** + Plan, implement, create domains, manage servers, configure JDBC resources and load balancer using mod proxy and mod cluster modules. + Monitor health and performance of Oracle SOA Suite and ESB environments by monitoring logs, troubleshooting issues, and performing patching, backups, and updates. + Develop and deploy software code according to functional, non-functional and technical design specifications. + Create a problem statement and define operational requirements including integration with other systems or components, research and modeling of the system architecture and configuration, investigation alternatives, cost analysis and estimation, and decision analysis. + Provide subject matter expertise in the deployment, configuration, patching, upgrading and administering of a large number of clustered application servers hosted on Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Windows platforms. + Troubleshoot applications and make necessary recommendations in infrastructure. + Analyze log and operational data to identify and respond to operational issues. + Meet business demands through performance tuning, upgrades, clustering, redundancy, and disaster recovery. + Coordinate activities with other technical personnel. + Utilize best practices and provide recommendations to improve applications and the system performance required to meet negotiated SLAs. + Use of Java, Python, Ansible, and Terraform. **Qualifications** + Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent based on evaluation of academic credentials, training and/or experience) as well as twelve (12) months in job or job related experience to include develop and deploy software code according to functional, non-functional and technical design specifications; create a problem statement and define operational requirements including integration with other systems or components, research and modeling of the system architecture and configuration, investigation alternatives, and decision analysis; provide subject matter expertise in the deployment, configuration, patching, upgrading and administering of a large number of clustered application servers hosted on Red Hat Enterprise Linux/Windows platforms; troubleshoot applications and make necessary recommendations in infrastructure; analyze log and operational data to identify and respond to operational issues; coordinate activities with other technical personnel; and utilize best practices and provide recommendations to improve applications and the system performance required to meet negotiated SLAs. + Opportunity to work from home. + Full-time position at 40 hours/week, Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Apply www.saic.com, Science Applications International Corporation.
