IT Support Specialist II

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:Coordinates, diagnoses and troubleshoots incoming employee requests. Provides support to employees with technical problems and information technology issues involving desktop, laptop or network services from local personnel or from employees using network remote access. Provides timely resolution of problems or escalation on behalf of customer to appropriate technical personnel. Provides case status updates to management and end-users. Supports and maintains effective relationships with users. Develops, documents, and implements standard operating procedures and customer service guidelines relating to IT support. Roles can have an internal or external client focus. May involve company-hosted, Web-enabled solutions or may include project-based jobs in conjunction with Professional Services and outsourcing functions. This position requires the ability to obtain security clearance, if needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:• Develops professional expertise, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues. • Determines a course of action based on guidelines and modifies processes and methods as required.• Works on problems of moderate scope which are often varied and routine where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. • Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action. • Applies learned techniques and contributes to analysis and investigation to solve problems. • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.• Builds productive internal/external working relationships to resolve mutual problems by collaborating on procedures or transactions. • Focuses on providing standard professional advice and creating initial reports/analyzes for review by experienced team professionals.• Other duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience and certifications.
