Position Summary
The IT Support Specialist is responsible for first‑level technical support, problem determination, and resolution for all trouble situations reported to the IT Department. This role supports a wide range of desktop devices including PCs, laptops, printers, scanners, POS terminals, card readers, kiosks, and telephony equipment. The position may also assist with audio and video system setups.
What You’ll Do
Respond to incident and service request tickets, ensuring timely resolution or escalationProvide first‑level support for hardware, software, and all desktop platformsPerform problem isolation, repair, data analysis, and documentation of findingsEscalate complex issues to senior IT staff or approved vendorsSupport installation and connectivity for desktop devices and telephony equipmentComplete and document all daily tasks according to the Daily Work ScheduleMaintain up‑to‑date procedures and documentation for all desktop platformsPerform intermediate technical repairs on desktop systemsTrack and close all issues using the help desk logMaintain the computer/equipment room at proper temperature and cleanlinessProvide one‑on‑one training to clients and usersMonitor and report system performance issuesParticipate in department‑driven projectsMaintain confidentiality of company records, policies, and customer informationShred sensitive reports as requiredLog all system downtime and report extended outages to leadershipPerform all duties in a manner that supports IT service level and system availability goalsKnowledge, Skills & Education Preferred
Associate degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical trainingExperience in a desktop support environment preferredTraining in telephony is beneficialMinimum one year experience in a technical support roleStrong personal computing skillsDemonstrated basic to intermediate troubleshooting skillsAbility to learn and support various desktop configurationsStrong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skillsExcellent customer service abilitiesHighly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to multitaskAbility to work in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure environmentPhysical Requirements
Visual acuityReliable transportationHome phone accessAbility to recognize audio/visual system warningsAbility to smell (for detecting equipment issues such as burning components)Ability to lift, carry, push, pull, reach, or grip up to 50 pounds above or below shoulder levelLicensing & Certification Required
