Job Summary:
Maintain and manage irrigation systems and performance by observation of turf and plant material conditions at the Oasis at Death Valley. This position will implement corrective action for over-watering or lack of watering and report problems to grounds supervisor. Our mission is to provide legendary service to our guests visiting from all over the world, and your work is instrumental to our success!
The Details:
Position Type: Full-time Year-round
Start Dates: As soon as possible on next available check in date (approximately three weeks)
Pay: $21.25/hr
Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
Maintain assigned irrigation areaRepair pipe breaks (PVC and Poly)Troubleshoot malfunctioning sprinkler headsIdentify and repair electrical problemsMaintain, Identify and correct Irrigation Clock problemsSpot-water dry areasDocument daily activities; maintain accurate repair recordsConduct continual visual inspections of areasFamiliarize irrigation systems through irrigation plans and as-builtsAssist with irrigation projectsAssist in irrigation system start up and winterizingAssist with daily grounds maintenanceApply preventative maintenance programs for maximum irrigation efficiencyMaintain clean and organized workstations in the irrigation parts room and assigned equipmentRecognize safety hazards and act accordinglyOther duties as assigned
Qualifications
Knowledge of basic electrical and hydraulics related to the system including valves, controllers and pumps.Ability to operate light motorized equipment.Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds maintenance work.Ability to follow oral and written directions.Valid California Driver’s LicenseHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Minimum 6 months of relevant experience and basic knowledge of irrigation parts.
Physical Requirements include:
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. up to shoulder height.Must be able to withstand working in extreme temperatures.Must be able to work on feet for at least 8 hours per day.We are an Equal Opportunity Employer.
