Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Iron Worker to assist in building industrial facilities, structures, and warehouses. This role involves constructing structures using structural steel and iron, framing and erecting iron and structural steel, and assembling structural frameworks using hand tools and welding equipment in accordance with blueprint specifications. The position requires working around cranes and being comfortable with chokers, crane signals, and rigging, as well as tack welding parts and welding structural steel onsite. An ability to read project layouts and blueprints is essential.
ResponsibilitiesBuild and erect industrial facilities, structures, and warehouses using structural steel and iron.Frame and erect iron and structural steel components.Fit and assemble structural frameworks using hand tools and welding equipment.Follow blueprint specifications during construction tasks.Operate safely around cranes, using chokers, crane signals, and rigging.Perform tack welding of parts and weld structural steel onsite.Read and interpret project layouts and blueprints effectively.Essential SkillsProficiency in metal framing and carpentry.Experience as an Iron Worker, Metal Stud Framer, or Steel Erector.Industrial or commercial carpentry skills.Proficiency in welding, especially tack welding of structural steel.Ability to read and interpret blueprints.OSHA 10 certification.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with tools such as Bull Pin, Erection Wrench, Snap Hook, Saws/cutting wheels, Hammer, Chalk line, Triangle, etc.Experience as Iron Workers or Millwrights.Ability to accurately read a tape measure.Skills in rigging.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Work will take place on industrial construction sites. The role is based on the 1st shift, with working hours from Monday to Thursday, 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, involving 10-hour shifts. There is potential for overtime on Fridays and Saturdays.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Midland, Michigan.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
