Investment Banking - Center for Carbon Transition - Analyst

Job Summary

 

As an Investment Bank Analyst in the Center for Carbon Transition, as part of Corporate Advisory, you will be a key player in the execution of the firm's business. You will work with expert professionals at the heart of a leading global investment bank. Senior bankers will get to know you - both as a person and as a valued member of a winning team. You will use your related experience to execute the firm’s net-zero-aligned decarbonization goals, evaluate transactions which need ESG-related oversight, work on firmwide sustainability initiatives, and support new product and market development. Job Responsibilities

Support the development and implementation of the Firm’s strategy to align, over time, its financing portfolio with net zero emissions by 2050 across carbon-intensive sectors (e.g., energy, transport, industrials)Support development of green financing target strategies and commercial opportunities for the firm, including identifying growth areas aligned with low-carbon transition Contribute to sector models and portfolio analytics that inform strategic decision-making and stakeholder engagementWork with J.P. Morgan product and coverage teams on energy transition-focused engagements related to emerging sectors (e.g., powering data centers, geothermal/nuclear energy, carbon capture)Develop high-quality analysis and content on a frequent basis (e.g., market updates, client-facing content, senior management presentations) to support firmwide sustainability initiativesKeep abreast of market and policy opportunities/headwinds related to the energy transition, and establish knowledge of relevant market dynamics

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Bachelor's degree1+ years prior work experience in an investment banking front office or related role is preferredDemonstrated interest in energy, climate and decarbonization themesStrong accounting, finance, quantitative and business writing skillsUnderstanding of the transaction cycle and the steps in the process Execution orientedImpeccable communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with senior professionals, clients and key stakeholders in other line of businessSelf-directed, highly motivated, and able to work independentlyBring a growth mindset and thrive in highly collaborate, feedback-driven environments
