Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory – Markets group is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join our Industrial Advisory team in our Cleveland office. The Associate will work closely with the team’s junior and senior professionals preparing, analyzing, and executing banking related transactions, primarily within the U.S. middle market.
Our Associates are exposed to multiple industries within our core areas of focus. In addition to key execution responsibilities, Associates manage consistent deal flow and are a main point of contact for our clients. All Associates have significant exposure to senior bankers and are involved in all stages of a transaction; they are an integral part of delivery to our clients and prospects.
Primary responsibilities include:
Participate in all phases of the transaction cycle from pitch development through deal execution and closeLead and prepare pitch materials, update decks, business‑origination presentations, and other client‑facing materialsDevelop and review detailed transaction marketing materials, including confidential information memoranda, management presentations, and other key transaction documentsPerform extensive financial modeling and valuation analyses, and manage or assist with the preparation of complex financial models and business valuationsConduct comprehensive company and industry due diligence, research, and analysis, and develop thought pieces for client discussionsOwn and manage diligence workstreams, including virtual data room oversight and responding to diligence inquiriesLiaise directly with client C‑suite and senior management to prepare materials, clarify diligence items, and support transaction processesSupport junior and senior deal team members in developing new business ideas, pitch strategies, and transaction structuring scenarios across equity, debt, and M&ALead or participate in meetings with current and prospective clientsAnalyze model outputs and client information to develop insights and present conclusions for internal and external discussionsAssist in outreach and business‑development efforts for sell‑side M&A and capital markets transactionsMentor and coach analysts, providing guidance on analyses, materials, and process managementQualifications, Education, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials
3+ years of work experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, or similar roleExperience in Industrial sector is strongly preferred. With Industrial equipment sector experience is a plus Professional / concise oral and written communicationStrong technical skills (knowledge of accounting, modeling, Excel, etc.)Excellent attention to detailSelf-starter / intellectual curiosity / resourceful Strong work ethic / team player / high degree of humility, maturity, and integrityAbility to work efficiently and to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environmentPlease note that U.S. Immigration sponsorship or work visa is not available for this position and candidates must have permanent authorization to work in the U.S.Hours & Work Schedule
