What is the opportunity?

Join Bessette Wealth Management (BWM), RBC Dominion Securities’ largest wealth management practice in Western Canada by assets under management, as we seek a client-focused, resourceful, and forward-thinking Investment Associate to drive impact in a dynamic, high-growth environment. By providing ongoing, exceptional service and support to our clients, you will help our team deepen existing relationships and welcome new clients to the firm. As an invaluable Team member, you will play a key role in both general practice administration and maintaining client accounts, ensuring account administration and documentation remains up-to-date and compliant and working with the Investment Advisors in managing client portfolios and wealth management planning opportunities.

What will you do?

Execute on trades as directed by the portfolio management team.

Follow up on client trades to ensure proper settlement and delivery.

Update investment models and monitor portfolios.

Ensure accurate and timely updates of all necessary documentation in compliance with internal controls and industry regulatory requirements. Maintain complete and up-to-date client files within appropriate systems.

Support cash flow processes; specifically, coordinate with the advisory team to invest new monies in portfolios and free up cash for planned and unplanned withdrawals per team philosophy and set criteria.

Rebalance portfolios with guidance from the portfolio management team.

Assist in operational initiatives and enhancements and maintain internal procedures/policies and ensure controls are followed.

Support the portfolio management team in general administrative duties in the management of client accounts.

Manage risk dashboard, bulk trading, Investment Policy Statements (IPS), etc.

Help manage incoming communications from clients, Advisors and other internal and external partners.

Prepare Advisors for meetings with their clients/prospects.

Assist the Advisor team with portfolio analysis for client proposals and onboarding.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

Canadian Investment Regulatory Exam, CIRE

Level I (or any higher level) of the CFA Program administered by the CFA Institute.

Minimum of 2 years of professional work experience within the investment industry.

Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills (Excel in particular).

Nice-to-have

Knowledge of RBC Dominion Securities’ systems and procedures

Demonstrated proficiency in providing world-class client service that will come across as professional, warm, and friendly to our clients
