Description
We are looking for a skilled Investment Accounting Analyst to join our large publicly traded insurance client in North Dallas. In this role, you will play a crucial part in managing financial data, analyzing investment trends, and supporting decision-making processes for our insurance subsidiaries. Your expertise will contribute to optimizing financial models, ensuring compliance, and driving efficiency in reporting and accounting practices.
Responsibilities:
• Design and manage financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
• Perform detailed analyses of investment data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare and deliver comprehensive financial reports for management, boards of directors, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with organizational goals.
• Evaluate potential investments and acquisitions to support business growth.
• Work with IT teams to improve data systems and ensure the accuracy and accessibility of financial information.
• Develop dashboards and reports to enhance insights into financial performance.
• Utilize programming tools like Python or R to automate processes and improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure accurate accounting and reporting for complex investment portfolios, including equities, fixed income, and alternative assets.
• Partner with auditors and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.

Requirements • Strong knowledge of investment accounting principles and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in data modeling techniques, including relational and dimensional models.
• Experience with programming languages such as Python or R for process automation.
• Solid understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements applicable to the insurance sector.
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, including risk-based capital calculations.
• Familiarity with investment portfolio management and credit risk assessment.
• Background in working with complex investments across multiple subsidiaries.
• Prior experience in a Big 4 accounting firm or similar environment that requires attention to detail is preferred.
