Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist
Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for managing the inventory in the stockroom to facilitate sales or production. This role involves signing off on shipments, counting available products, and placing orders for additional inventory based on demand.

ResponsibilitiesEnsure smooth and efficient inventory operations in the stockroom, warehouse, or shipping/receiving department.Inspect incoming stock to verify correct order fulfillment and check for damage, contacting quality or planning departments as needed.Verify counts of incoming supplies and materials, enter data into SAP, and organize material in designated locations.Perform periodic cycle counts, record quantities per procedure.Follow department procedures to fulfill manufacturing orders, customer orders, scrap tickets, shortage tickets, engineering requests, and subcontracting orders.Receive incoming shipments into SAP and distribute them to the correct department or recipient.Distribute necessary paperwork or copies to the quality department and supervisor.Process all shipments in SAP, ensuring accuracy.Handle advanced ship notices through customer and carrier portals as per prescribed procedures.Update tracking information.Complete international paperwork.Process any manual shipments and samples as needed.Communicate with production, engineering, and sales as needed using phone or email.Generate necessary deliveries in SAP and corresponding picking paperwork for subcontracting purchase orders, customer orders, and orders for sister facilities.Essential SkillsProficiency in inventory control and material handling.Ability to operate a crown lift.Capability to lift up to 50 lbs.Strong time management skills.Proficient in processing shipments and inventory transactions in SAP system.Knowledge of shipping guidelines and local, corporate, and department procedures.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma or equivalent.Ability to read, write, and speak English.Experience with collaborative tools such as email, Microsoft Office, Google Suite, carrier software, document scanning, and SAP.Why Work Here?

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wallingford, Connecticut.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
