Inventory Clerk
Job Title: Inventory and Order Management SpecialistJob Description

This position is responsible for maintaining and updating inventory levels in the warehouse and managing orders to facilitate sales and production. The role involves accurately counting available products and placing orders for inventory, including materials, equipment, merchandise, or supplies according to demand.

ResponsibilitiesMonitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet customer demand while identifying shortages and inform Warehouse Manager and Production.Set up Material Resources Planning (MRP) systems.Oversee order fulfillment activities, ensuring timely and accurate processing of customer orders.Conduct regular audits of inventory, investigate and correct discrepancies, and implement corrective actions.Load and unload containers, including reviewing freight documentation.Serve as a backup for shipping & receiving.Support the purchasing department as needed.Communicate and collaborate with team members across departments to achieve team goals.Perform other duties as assigned by your supervisor or management.
Essential SkillsExperience using and understanding inventory computer programs.Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Mathematical and analytical skills.Ability to operate standard forklift and pallet jack.Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail for accuracy of records.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while being self-motivated.Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & QualificationsWarehouse experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds, up to 80 pounds or more.Capable of standing for prolonged periods, and performing tasks such as walking, bending, climbing stairs, pushing, pulling, and reaching with hands and arms.

This is a Contract position based out of Chesapeake, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
