This position is an opportunity for a student to gain hands-on experience in agricultural marketing and international trade while supporting Minnesota’s food and agriculture exports. You’ll assist Ag Marketing and International staff with research and the development of marketing and export materials and help promote Food Export Association and Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) international programs to Minnesota food and agricultural businesses. In this role, the student worker will update company databases, collect and analyze export and market data, and write success stories that highlight the impact of Minnesota agriculture around the world. You’ll also support special projects led by the Food Export Association and MDA—building practical skills in research, communication, data analysis, and global marketing while contributing to real-world export initiatives. This position may be eligible to telework up to 50% of the scheduled work hours upon successful completion of an initial training and onboarding period. **Minimum Qualifications** + Completion of at least one year of post-secondary education with a major in agriculture, communications, international studies, economics, marketing, business management or a related field. + Ability to communicate, influence and persuade a diverse audience both orally and in writing. + Strong interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills. + Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy. + Proficiency working with personal computers and software related to databases, spreadsheets, presentation and word processing. Internet and web search skills are essential. + The ability to celebrate diversity and a strong commitment to a respectful and inclusive work environment. **Student worker eligibility status:** To be eligible for an appointment as a Student Worker you must be a student enrolled in an educational program or planning to enroll within three months. Students may be "off" for the summer or for one semester/quarter and remain employed as student workers, but such absences cannot exceed one semester/quarter in a year. As a student you must be enrolled in high school or in a post-secondary or graduate program. If a student is enrolled at a credit-granting institution he/she must carry at least six semester (nine quarter) credits. If enrolled at a non-credit granting institution or one that only offers one credit per class, a student must be taking two or more classes per semester/quarter. Any lesser credit (class) load shall be treated as a semester/quarter off. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least two courses or making progress on a dissertation. you will be asked to complete an Educational Verification form prior to appointment. **Preferred Qualifications** + Experience or coursework related to international business and/or agricultural business + Coursework or hands-on experience in data analysis, statistics, or research methods + Familiarity with data cleaning, organization, and basic statistical analysis + Ability to create charts, tables, and simple data visualizations (e.g., Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar) **Physical Requirements** Must have the ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds. **Additional Requirements** A job offer will be contingent upon successfully passing a background check.
