The RCA CIB (Risk Control Assurer) team ensures robust management of non-financial risks across Corporate & Investment Banking. Using BBVA’s internal risk-identification methodology, the team designs, implements and tests controls across all CIB business lines. The role requires regular engagement with senior CIB stakeholders and close collaboration with Internal Audit, Compliance, Operations, Non-Financial Risk and other control specialists who support CIB transactions.

This London-based position focuses primarily on managing non-financial risks for BBVA UK Branch.

About the job:

Essential job duties:

Collaborate with managers and team members to perform risk assessments for CIB processes.

Implement and execute Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and other periodic controls.

Work with managers and colleagues to design and deploy preventive and detective measures to mitigate potential risks across Global Markets, Investment Banking & Finance, and Global Transaction Banking.

Monitor and drive remediation of Internal Audit findings and regulatory recommendations that affect non-financial risks and control frameworks.

Maintain, test and close SOX and non-SOX risks and controls.

Prepare internal control reports for CIB management and update operational risk reporting systems (e.g., MIGRO, SIRO).

Monitor operational risk losses and conduct ad-hoc risk assessments following material events.

Organise and participate in quarterly Internal Control & Operational Risk committees.

Contribute to the enhancement and sustainability of the CIB control framework.

What are we looking for?

Previous Experience and Knowledge:

Bachelor Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or similar.

Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in control activities (Compliance, Internal Audit, Internal Control, Operations or SOX functions).

Experience in Corporate & Investment Banking activities is preferred.

Languages:

Strong English Communication Skills (Written/Verbal). Minimum C1 is required.

Fluent in Spanish.
