Purpose of Role

The Risk Consulting practice of IKS (MMGS) is looking to recruit an Intern experienced in delivering Business Continuity Services.

The strategic risk services, has a particular emphasis on Business Continuity Management and Information Security offerings.

The purpose of the role is helping to deliver projects. There range of duties are varied and whilst key responsibilities are expressed here they include the flexible execution of additional consulting, analytical and operational tasks as reasonably expected from time to time, i.e. assist in business development from writing proposals, delivering presentations to the sale of new engagements.

Key Responsibilities

Client Service - BCP:

Assist Manager/ Senior Manager in advising clients in transforming business continuity and disaster recovery solutionsAssist Manager/ Senior Manager in driving operational and technical resilience solutions to meet the current threats and enable timely business recovery.Assist Project Lead in performing BIA, RA for client processes.Engaging in BCM assessments; resilient process and technology design, operational and service enhancement processes.Support Project Lead in advising clients on technical architecture, data resilience, testing and failover automation activities.Assist Project Lead in implement BCM, CM, Emergency Response and ITDR framework.

Communication

Develops and effectively delivers complex written and oral communications, such as proposals, technical concepts and deliverables.Creates templates or other written materials to be utilized by other consulting colleagues.

Business Acumen

Articulates internal and external business goals and overall strategies needed to attain these goals.

Competencies

Knowledge in implementing, managing, and auditing an ISO-22301 BCMS

CBCP, CBCI, ISO22301 / ISO27001 Lead Implementer or Lead auditor certification considered a plus.Knowledge of Crisis Management, Emergency Response and IT Disaster Recovery conceptsAppreciation and knowledge of resilience, communication backup etc.Understanding of various aspects of technology resilience – design and process aspectsUnderstanding of BCM related tools and softwares.

What you need to have: 

Relevant risk management qualification and Bachelor’s degree (ideally Master’s), and relevant fieldsRelevant ISO, CBCP and/or MBCI Certifications preferredExcellent communication skills – verbal, writing, listeningAdvanced level of proficiency in MS Office, with strong skills in PowerPoint, Word, Excel (including Macros, VBA), Access and SharePoint

Business Resilience experience from another major consulting firm is desired with strong domain knowledge and experience in Business Continuity ManagementIdeally with secondary domain knowledge/experience in Crisis Management, Emergency Response, Cyber/Information SecurityStrong academic rigourFamiliarity with core statistical concepts e.g., correlation, regressions, significance values, etc.Knowhow of programming languages like Python or R and BI tools like Tableau will be a plusAbility to take initiatives to strive for improvement in analytical techniques, processes and outputs
