This 1.7 million square-foot facility has been a central part of our production network since 1975, focusing on assembling all Class 8 Mack® trucks for North American and export markets. The Macungie, Pennsylvania plant includes cab and chassis assembly lines, a truck modification center, and an engine grooming line. **About the Position** We are currently looking for students to work with our production teams. You should be prepared to work in a challenging and fast-paced environment, gaining experience and knowledge in various aspects of Planning, Communication, Feedback. As a valued member of our team within LVO, you will have the opportunity to work directly on production focusing on increasing efficiency and quality while utilizing your engineering education and continuous improvement mindset. LVO's goal is to contribute to your development, as well as providing an opportunity to work in a business environment within the manufacturing industry. **What you will do** Core responsibilities: + Drive lean methodology + Data collection and analysis focus on standards and repeatability of current + Video analysis of current process to analyze 3Ms (Muri, Mura and Muda) + Assist line balancing projects + Work with other departments to implement product and process changes. + Support training session of Lean Manufacturing tools. + Participate in project planning, implementation and improvements + Works FI (Focus Improvement) Owner to promote the Culture of Continuous Improvement + Support 5S activities + Assist kaizens on the organization (assembly lines, logistic areas and quality area) + Assist in Kaizen weeks + Assist in follow-up, reports and flow charts. + Participate in functional meetings. + Good attitude & continuous improvement mindset are critical to performing daily activities in this Lean Manufacture Critical Competencies • Attention to Detail: Provide accurate data and reports that are pertinent to the team’s tasks. • Teamwork: Building cooperation among individuals and departments, sharing information and resources, and working to achieve group goals and outcomes. • Communication: Listen effectively, transmit information accurately and understandably, and actively seek feedback from experienced engineers, project manager, etc. • Dependability/Reliability: Follow through on commitments, timely delivery on projects, assigned tasks, etc. • Flexibility: Willing to perform a wide range of tasks, positive responds to changes in direction and priorities, and acceptance of new challenges, responsibilities, and assignments. **Who are you?** Internship Education and Program Requirements • Applicant must be currently enrolled and pursuing in Engineering: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering. • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75. • Strong communication skills. • Valid US Work authorization.
