Join our Metal Cutting & Turning Operations team as a Machinist, where you'll play a key role in maintaining efficient production by setting up and operating a range of CNC equipment, including turning machines and both vertical and horizontal machining centers. **Responsibilities** + Read blueprints and follow specific instructions and procedures. + Organize, prioritize, and plan daily work assignments in a self-directed changing environment. + Utilize shop math skills. + Proficiently use measuring equipment such as height gauges, micrometers, and calipers. + Understand metal-cutting applications and machine practices. + Handle piece parts ranging in weight from 1lb. to 25 lbs. + Deburr and clean parts using hand and power tools such as a belt sander or drill press. + Inspect parts visually and using various measurement tools. **Essential Skills** + 3+ years of overall CNC experience + 1+ year of CNC setup experience + Experience with Mazak, Okuma, or Haas machines + Experience with Mill or Lathe CNC machines + Blueprint reading experience + Proficiency with precision measuring tools: micrometers and calipers + High School Diploma or GED **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + CNC vocational schooling + GD&T experience + Experience with both Lathe and Mill CNC machines **Why Work Here?** We offer a comprehensive benefits package including BlueCross BlueShield, dental and vision insurance, a 401K with company match, and eligibility for company stock after three years. You'll be part of a fast-paced production environment with opportunities for overtime, typically 5-10 hours on average. Shift options include 1st Shift from 6:00 am to 4:30pm and 2nd Shift from 4:30 pm to 4:00 am, with occasional Saturday work as notified in advance but not mandatory. **Job Type & Location** This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Palatine, Illinois. **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $33.00/hr.
