Description
Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Interim Financial Controller will lead the implementation of financial processes and internal controls during a period of organizational transition. This role oversees core financial functions including Accounting, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. The Controller will ensure compliance with GAAP, manage the month-end close process, and prepare financial statements for executive leadership and board-level review. This position also serves as the primary liaison with financial institutions and supports strategic planning initiatives. The Controller may act on behalf of the CFO when needed.
Key Responsibilities
Financial OperationsLead and manage Accounting, Procurement, AP, and AR teams.Oversee the development and enforcement of accounting policies and internal controls.Ensure timely and accurate month-end close and financial reporting.Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions and operational improvements.General Ledger & ReportingSupervise general ledger maintenance and reconciliation.Approve and post journal entries.Prepare financial statements and KPI reports for leadership and governance bodies.Banking & TreasuryServe as the administrator for banking relationships, wire transfers, and cash management.Monitor liquidity and oversee short-term investments.Organizational TransitionAct as a key contributor to financial planning and execution during organizational restructuring or affiliation changes.Compliance & Best PracticesEnsure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements.Identify and implement financial best practices and process improvements.Leadership & CollaborationMentor finance team leaders and support professional development.Collaborate with operational leaders to align financial and business strategies.Represent Finance in cross-functional committees and initiatives.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience.At least 4 years in a supervisory role within a mid-to-large organization Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, insurance, or financial services is preferred.EducationBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems.Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and drive performance.High attention to detail and organizational skills.Additional InformationOccasional local and overnight travel may be required.Must maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
