Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller to lead financial operations during a critical period of organizational transition. Reporting directly to the CFO, this role will oversee Accounting, Procurement, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP and healthcare industry regulations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, technical expertise, and a strategic mindset to support financial stability and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
Lead and manage Accounting, AP, AR, and Procurement teams.Oversee month-end close and prepare timely, accurate financial statements.Maintain and enforce internal controls and accounting policies.Conduct financial analysis to support operational and strategic decisions.General Ledger & Compliance
Supervise general ledger maintenance and reconciliations.Approve journal entries and ensure GAAP compliance.Prepare KPI dashboards and reports for executive and board-level review.Banking & Treasury
Serve as primary liaison with financial institutions.Manage cash flow, wire transfers, and short-term investments.Organizational Transition
Support financial planning and execution during restructuring or affiliation changes.Act as a strategic advisor to the CFO and executive leadership.Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor finance team leaders and foster professional development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial and operational goals.Represent Finance in internal committees and external engagements.Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.Minimum 5 years of financial leadership experience.At least 4 years in a supervisory role within a mid-to-large organization.Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.Preferred:
CPA, CMA, or equivalent certification.Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field.Experience in regulated industries such as healthcare, insurance, or financial services.Skills & CompetenciesExpertise in reconciliation, general ledger, month-end close, and financial reporting.Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems.Ability to lead through change and drive performance.
Additional InformationOccasional local and overnight travel may be required.Must uphold confidentiality and ethical standards.Participation in professional groups and committees is encouraged.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
