Your Key Responsibilities Generally responsible for day-to-day intellectual property matters Counsel inventors, act as the contact person for all internal clients in IP matters Prosecuting patent applications before national and international patent offices, correspondence with local and foreign patent attorneys Searching relevant publications in specific technical fields or for products, and for specific intellectual property rights to assess company’s business activities Provide information to allow for target-oriented intellectual property filings and identification of intellectual property rights violations Investigation of new developments in regard to relevance with third party IPR Preparation and assessment of infringement analysis from a technical and legal perspective, providing a respective recommendation for action (confidential, internal) Monitor IP activities of competitors Periodic market monitoring for the infringement of own IPR, including Brand Protection activities Train engineers, e.g., for patent search tools or intellectual property processes at Schaeffler Assess relevant documents and provide qualified counsel Actively participate in the Asia Pacific intellectual property team Your Qualifications Qualified patent agent or patent attorney with a license to act before the patent office in the Republic of Korea 3-5 years relevant working experience as in-house counsel (managing intellectual property in mechanical or electrical engineering or mechatronics) Major in mechanical or electrical engineering or physics, with expertise in automotive engineering, industrial engineering, mechatronics, or related subject matter Good conversational and written English language skills Legal knowledge is a plus, e.g., PCT, national civil and IP law, US law, etc. Manage and prioritize diverse work tasks Ability to work independently, whilst contributing effectively as a team member. Good communication skills and understanding of working in a global organization.
