**Insurance Summer Intern - 2026**
Tri-State is an electric utility. We have an Insurance Intern opportunity for 2026. Students who have successfully completed two (2) to three (3) years of undergraduate study towards a Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management & Insurance, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting from an accredited college or university are encouraged to apply. Seniors who will be graduating in December or are planning to attend graduate school in the Fall are also encouraged to apply.
**This summer position offers students hands on experience to work in and learn various aspects of Tri-State’s Insurance department.**
**Responsibilities:**
+ Under supervision, the intern will be responsible for invoice preparation, budget analysis, renewal application process for various policies.
+ Keep up to date on contractor insurance requirements and submit new contractors to our certificate of insurance management vendor.
+ Monitor status of loss control recommendations.
**Projects may include the following:**
+ Assist, research and develop a recommendation on the utilization of Captive insurance for Tri-State.
+ Prepare Insurance Survey for G&T members and summarize results.
**Job Requirements**
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills.
+ Highly motivated self-starter who likes to be challenged and has a willingness to learn.
+ Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and completeness.
+ Experience and moderate proficiency using Microsoft Office products.
**Duration, Work Schedule and Location**
+ The duration of the summer internship will be from about the end of May until the end of August.
+ The work schedule includes Monday through Friday, eight hours per day, 8:00a.m. to 5:00p.m. or potential flexibility of hours upon approval, forty hours per week. There is a possibility of telecommuting 40% of the work week (Monday and Friday).
+ The position is located at Tri-State’s Headquarters at 1100 W. 116 th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80234.
