Instrumentation Technician
Job Title: Instrumentation TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for executing and managing complex design-drafting assignments. Utilizing AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawing techniques, you will be tasked with completing projects accurately and on time while collaborating with various teams.

ResponsibilitiesComplete assigned projects independently and accurately, developing scope and procedures with input from team leaders and managers.Perform design-drafting assignments using AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawing techniques.Draft plans and construction drawings considering the operation and layout of piping systems.Conduct field work, including walk-downs and dimensioned field sketches.Build equipment models based on vendor/specification documents.Create accurate Isometric drawings and develop accurate Bill of Material documents.Prepare layout, design, and 3D modeling of complex piping systems based on P&IDs.Generate complex structural models and coordinate troubleshooting with structural engineers.Interpret piping stress analysis reports and collaborate with stress engineers for safe design.Manage and communicate with third-party designers to assure quality work.Mentor and train other designers and drafters.Generate line lists and tie-in lists, actively participating in P&ID review meetings.Utilize scanned point cloud files to produce accurate piping models.Follow and participate in developing engineering standards and procedures.Report changes and mistakes, managing the revision process effectively.Learn and adapt quickly to project tasks, managing multiple responsibilities.Ensure quality of work produced, following continuous improvement methods.Incorporate safety, operability, maintainability, and constructability in design work.Review and check work prepared by others, providing constructive feedback.Generate man-hour estimates and monitor project progress, reporting to the project team.Actively participate in project meetings and design/model reviews.Essential SkillsAssociate degree or Technical degree required; Bachelor or Technical degree preferred.Previous piping design and 3D modeling experience required.Excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office and AutoCAD (current version or within last 3 versions).Proficiency in Cadworks preferred.Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings.Additional Skills & QualificationsCadworks experience preferred.ReCap proficiency preferred.Familiarity with AISC and ASTM specifications preferred.Knowledge of construction and fabrication techniques preferred.Understanding of tape measure, square, level, and various layout tools.Work Environment

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
