**Job Description**
+ Teach undergraduate and graduate students in the Secondary Professional Education Sequence, Post-Baccalaureate program, and M.S. in Curriculum and Instruction program.
+ Through their research, teaching, and service, the ideal candidate will demonstrate St. Cloud State's commitment to our mission and values and embrace the College of Education and Learning Design's conceptual framework, especially our responsibility for the holistic education of our diverse student population. This includes our commitments to diversity, equity, access, and inclusion, and attention to the various components of student belonging.
+ Participate in committees at the school, college, university, and district level.
+ Provide mentorship and model best practices and leadership for our undergraduate and graduate students.
+ Supervise students in the field and student teaching placements as required based on assigned load.
+ Provide assistance in helping students understand and apply technology in the classroom.
+ Participate with the program, department, and school in student recruitment, academic advising, and student advocacy.
+ Supervise research and help graduate students visualize themselves as teacher scholars, including providing the guidance necessary to complete culminating projects.
+ Participate in departmental business and leadership, addressing departmental and program enhancement, assessment, accreditation, and future development at the college/school and university.
+ Evidence of demonstrated ability to teach using a variety of modalities: in person, hybrid, hyflex, online synchronous, and online asynchronous.
+ Evidence of demonstrated ability to work with people from minoritized and historically excluded communities.
+ Applicants will be expected to establish and maintain professional goals to be outstanding teachers using research based, best-practices, and innovative pedagogy. They should be willing to participate in teaching using alternative delivery methods such as online and hybrid. They will regularly engage in ongoing professional development and innovation opportunities focused on pedagogical growth offered within the College and at St. Cloud State University.
**Minimum Qualifications**
+ Master’s degree in any content education area and/or related field.
+ Holds or has previously held a 5-12 teaching license with an emphasis area in any content licensure area offered at SCSU with a minimum of 3 years licensed teaching experience in secondary education public school setting.
+ Must be PELSB eligible to teach secondary literacy.
+ Demonstrated ability to teach courses in secondary education, such as curriculum & instruction, assessment, multicultural education, and literacy.
+ Demonstrated commitment to working with people of culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.
+ Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum writing and alignment at PK-12 levels.
+ Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with multilingual learners.
**Preferred Qualification**
+ Terminal degree (PhD or EdD) in Education or in any content licensure area offered at SCSU.
+ Special consideration will be given to candidates with undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience.
+ Experience teaching secondary literacy. Demonstrated experience with innovative teacher education program design and development, and course redesign.
**Other Requirements**
Must be able to teach in-person, online, and hybrid/hyflex day and evening courses.
