Daikin Applied is seeking an Instructional Designer II.  Daikin Learning drives business value by providing excellence in learning to our external and internal customers. We provide technical HVAC education to our sales and service organizations. We are on a mission to modernize the way we teach by enhancing our designs and leveraging technology to engage with our learners. The Senior Instructional Designer is responsible for designing and developing learning content that delivers performance outcomes. This role will lead design projects and will be expected to direct external instructional designers on project deliverables and day-to-day duties. Strong knowledge on a variety of learning modalities is highly desirable. The content in Daikin Learning is highly technical engineering topics and would require someone with experience on highly technical topics. What you will do: 

Curriculum Design and Development

Create and revise curriculum materials, lesson plans, assessments, and instructional resources aligned to organizational standards and objectivesCreate large-scale training programs for sales and service audiencesDesign learning experiences that incorporate best practices in pedagogy, adult learning theory, and instructional designAnalyze learner performance data to identify gaps and recommend improvementsDevelop assessments that measure business and learning outcomesProvide guidance and coaching to instructors/facilitators on curriculum implementationRecommend innovative tools, methods, and resources to improve learning experiences

Instructional Design

Leverage high impact instructional design methodology to create engaging learning content and interactive learning experiences aligned to business resultsDevelop solutions that create powerful targeted learning experiences in a variety of modalities: virtual classrooms, eLearning, video, learning pathway, instructor-led, etcContribute to the evaluation and selection of learning technologies for the organizationApply ADDIE to create learning assetsMust be proficient with creating design documents, storyboards, etc  

Project Management

Responsible for the management of multiple simultaneous projects directing the work of internal and external resourcesLeverage standard learning project management practices and tools including: charter, scope, schedule, budget, risk and dashboardAccountable for projects to be delivered on-time, within scope and budgetManage multiple projects, from end-to-end training, including deployment and collaborating with operations and program managers

Performance Consulting

Partner with leaders, sponsors and subject matter experts to identify opportunities where training can enable and drive business resultsProduce needs analysis, high impact learning maps and learner personas that deliver innovative, performance-based learning outcomesConduct needs assessments to determine curriculum opportunities and priorities

Minimum Qualifications: 

Bachelor's degree in Learning, Education, or Technical Communication, or Human Resources6-8 years Instructional Design experienceExperience with Design & Development of ILT, VILT, and eLearning1-3 years project management and building learning and design project plansExperience with highly technical training topics Proficient with these authoring and delivery tools: Adobe Suite, SnagIt, Canva, Camtasia, Learning Pathway (Intrepid), Cornerstone, SharePointWork visa sponsorship is not available for this position

The typical annual base salary for this position ranges from $80,400k- $132,800K and 10% bonus.  The range displayed represents the pay range for all positions in the job grade which this position falls. Individual base pay will depend on a wide range of factors including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
