Instructional Designer
Location: 2727 N Central Ave, Phoenix, Arizona 85004 United States of America Instructional Designer (U-Haul University) About the Role The Instructional Designer at U-Haul University (UHU) is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality learning solutions that support operational performance across the organization. This role partners closely with subject-matter experts (SMEs) to translate processes into clear, consistent, and scalable learning experiences. The focus is on production, accuracy, and learner impact, while supporting business unit initiatives. Key Responsibilities + Design and develop online learning solutions using sound instructional design principles and adult learning theory. + Build and maintain eLearning courses using tools such as Articulate Rise 360 and Storyline, including assessments and knowledge checks. + Create supporting materials such as job aids, guides, and resources to reinforce on-the-job performance. + Ensure course content is accurate, current, and aligned with UHU standards and terminology. + Manage multiple course projects simultaneously, meeting established production timelines and quality expectations. + Review and update existing courses to improve clarity, consistency, and effectiveness. + Collaborate with LMS, reporting, and media partners to support deployment and measurement of learning. Required Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning & Development, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. + 3+ years of instructional design experience in a corporate or enterprise learning environment. + Hands-on experience with eLearning authoring tools (Articulate Rise 360 and/or Storyline, Adobe Creative). + Strong written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex operational content. + Proven ability to manage workload, prioritize projects, and deliver against deadlines. Preferred Qualifications + Experience designing training for operations, field, logistics, or compliance-driven environments. + Familiarity with U-Haul systems, terminology, or Traffic and Field workflows. + Experience working within an LMS and using learning data to inform updates and improvements. + Understanding of accessibility standards and learner-centered design best practices. + Experience collaborating in fast-paced, production-focused learning teams.
