Job Description HFM BOCES has an immediate opening for a full-time Instructional Coach (1.0 FTE) who will be responsible for working with districts in a variety of roles. The successful candidates will possess strong interpersonal skills, classroom teaching experience and the ability to facilitate professional development. This probationary, 10-month+30 tenure-track position, with some days over the summer. The position will be split between Special Education (.6 FTE) and Instructional Services (.4 FTE). Expected duties: + Serve in the development and support the implementation of instructional plans that align to NYS standards, district goals and curricula + Work with teachers and administrators to analyze student data, diagnose instructional needs and identify research-based instructional strategies to close achievement gaps. + Provide individual and/or group instructional coaching and mentoring to teachers to improve classroom instruction for all learners + Manage and distribute instructional resources to teachers and provide training on the use of those resources + Encourage and support the implementation of technology and innovative strategies in the classroom + Extensive understanding of NYS learning standards + Extensive understanding of various instruction strategies Job Qualifications Qualifications/Experience + Candidates must hold a valid New York State Teaching Certificate + Classroom teaching experience (5+ years preferred) + Experience in development, preparation and presentation of professional development (preferred); training will be provided + Experience / Ability to utilize data to guide and support instructional strategies to close performance gaps (preferred); training will be provided TEACH Clearance Per Regulations of the Commissioner of Education, to be employed in a position designated by a school district or BOCES as involving direct contact with students, a clearance for employment from the State Education Department is required.
