These positions typically work 5 hours per day, 5 days per week, 10 months per year, although this may vary by school site. There are multiple openings located at various elementary schools throughout the district to include: Kaiser, Newport Elementary, Newport Heights, Pomona, Whittier, and Wilson. BASIC FUNCTION: Under the direction of an assigned Principal, assist a certificated teacher in reinforcing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a classroom or other learning environment; assist teachers with the preparation of instructional materials; tutor students in assigned subject areas. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and some experience working with children in an organized setting.
