Job Summary:
The Receiving Inspector is responsible for performing detailed inspections of incoming materials, components, and products to ensure compliance with aviation industry standards, engineering drawings, and internal specifications. This position plays a key role in ensuring the quality and traceability of parts used in production. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in GD&T, SAP, and the use of precision inspection tools commonly used in aerospace manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Inspection & Verification:
Inspect incoming raw materials, components, and assemblies using precision inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and CMMs.
Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including GD&T symbols and requirements, to validate part conformance.
Verify part numbers, quantities, and documentation (certifications, C of Cs, MTRs, FAA 8130-3 tags) against purchase orders and internal requirements.
Perform visual, dimensional, and documentation inspections in accordance with aviation and aerospace standards.
Documentation & Recordkeeping:
Accurately record inspection results and maintain traceable records within the company’s ERP and Quality Management Systems.
Utilize SAP to track receiving activities, document inspections, and manage inventory transactions.
Identify and report non-conformances; assist in initiating and processing NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports).
Compliance & Collaboration:
Ensure compliance with FAA, AS9100, and ISO 9001 requirements.
Work closely with purchasing, engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve inspection-related issues.
Support continuous improvement efforts and supplier quality initiatives.
Qualifications:
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Minimum 2–3 years of receiving inspection or quality control experience in the medical or auto industry.
Strong understanding of GD&T principles and ability to interpret complex engineering drawings.
Hands-on experience with a wide range of inspection tools and gauges.
Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems is required.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Effective communication and documentation skills.
Familiarity with AS9100, FAA regulations, and OEM quality standards. Basic computer literacy, including Microsoft Office application
