It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care. Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks. Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics. The inpatient Pharmacy department is located in the lower level of the hospital, however, our clinical pharmacist work side by side with the Patient Care Team at the patients bedside providing expertise and education to both the clinicians they work with as well as the patients. This department, along with all departments within the hospital, supports the guiding principles of the hospital in providing care that is customized and reflects the patient's needs, values, and choices. **Preferred Qualifications** **Role Purpose** The Pharmacy Technician - Inpatient 4, under the direct supervision of a staff pharmacist and according to standard procedures, provides extensive support to staff pharmacists and helps guide the daily pharmacy operation. This position assumes primary responsibility for advanced level tasks, functions or an area of specialty, to include telepharmacy, investigation programs, diversion/regulatory programs, medication history collection, and revenue cycle management. This position also authenticates the work performed by other technicians, vaccinators, and/or lead technicians. **Responsibilities** + Maintains quality assurance standards and required documentation; maintains regulatory cleanliness compliance. + Assists in the preparation of medication orders, to include workflow management, basic preparation & dispensing, and non-sterile compounding. + Supports various inventory activities, to include inventory storage, ordering, rotating, beyond use dating, and cleanliness. + Assumes primary responsibility for advanced level tasks, functions or an area of specialty, to include telepharmacy, investigation programs, diversion/regulatory programs, medication history collection, and revenue cycle management; authenticates the work performed by other technicians, vaccinators, and/or lead technicians. + Become proficient in required and continuous learning for the advanced role, including the advanced use and maintenance of associated electronic/automated systems, and any necessary certifications; serves as a subject matter expert, as denoted by advanced certification recognized by Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or other required training outside of pharmacy. + BJC has determined this is a safety-sensitive position.
