Who You Will Work With:
Reporting to the Leader, Infrastructure and Platform Management Intern role will be working with Infrastructure operations, Service Management Audit, VMO & MSP teams to ensure delivery of services across Interac’s IT landscape. This is your chance to work on real-world projects, applying your skills to solve challenges and contribute to the creation of Interac products.
The intern will support the Infrastructure & Platform Management team in delivering operational excellence, risk mitigation, and platform enablement across Interac’s core systems. This role is designed to provide meaningful exposure to enterprise infrastructure, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You Will Do:
Assist in building and refining dashboards to track incident trends, infrastructure health, and performance metrics.
Help document and validate IT asset workflows, support CMDB integration, and assist with procurement tracking.
Contribute to the IT Compliance Library and help track open operational/security risks.
Support audit calendar development and evidence collection.
Collaborate with InfoSec, Agile Enablement, and Software Development teams to support infrastructure stability and platform optimization.
Participate in refining access structures for Confluence, JIRA, and Teams.
You will support with weekly status updates and retrospectives to assess progress, identify blockers, and drive continuous improvement.
You will deliver final presentations summarizing key learnings, project outcomes, and individual contributions.
Develop and maintain documentation for workflows, dashboards, and compliance artifacts to support operational transparency and audit readiness.
What You Bring:
Currently completing an undergraduate degree from a creditable Canadian institution with a focus on computer science, software engineering or similar field
You must have experience and understanding of system design, databases, networking (across multi cloud footprint) & process automation.
Prior experience and knowledge with Service now, Jira, Confluence, Audit board, Ansible, Terraform, Satellite – you will be working in complex infrastructure setup and therefore you should be willing to learn and grow your skills.
A self-starter mindset with a drive for continuous learning – you have a natural ability to pick up new technology you enjoy solving problems while learning about new tools, technology, applications and how they work
Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:
Experience with DevSecOps tools and processes
Prior co-op experience in similar roles is an asset (System engineering, IT operations , process engineering, System architecture )
You will be digging into several other technologies too, so experience in any of these areas is a huge plus: Azure, AWS, OCP, VMware, Dynatrace, App D, Dell Data Domain
Understanding Agile methodologies and processes
Self-motivated to learn new technologies and applications.
Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills along with strong analysis and problem-solving skills
What We’re Offering:
The hourly pay range for this position is $21 to $23, and the internship term runs from May to August 2026. The exact amount will depend on factors such as skills, experience, and job-related knowledge. An internship opportunity at Interac also features:
