Infrastructure Asset Management Lead

Job Summary
The Infrastructure Asset Management Lead is responsible for governing the full lifecycle of IT infrastructure assets, including hardware, software licenses, cloud resources, and related contracts. This role ensures compliance, cost optimization, accurate asset visibility, and effective capacity utilization across on-premise and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
IT Asset & License Management
Own end-to-end IT asset lifecycle management (procure → deploy → maintain → retire)Manage software license compliance (Microsoft, Oracle, SAP, VMware, etc.)Conduct regular license audits, true-ups, and risk assessmentsMaintain accurate asset inventory and CMDB dataCapacity & Utilization Management
Monitor and analyze infrastructure capacity (servers, storage, network, cloud)Identify under-utilized or over-provisioned assets and recommend optimizationPartner with infrastructure and cloud teams on demand forecasting and scalingDrive cost efficiency through right-sizing and consolidation initiativeContract & Vendor Management
Manage infrastructure-related contracts, renewals, and SLAsTrack contract milestones, expirations, and renewal timelinesSupport commercial negotiations with vendors and procurement teamsEnsure contract compliance and value realizationFinancial & Cost Optimization
Support budgeting, forecasting, and chargeback/showback modelsIdentify cost-saving opportunities across licenses, hardware, and cloud usageSupport audits and financial governance requirementGovernance, Risk & Compliance
Ensure compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and regulationsSupport internal and external audits (IT, financial, license)Define and enforce ITAM standards, processes, and controlsTools, Reporting & Stakeholder Management
Manage CMDB tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow)Produce dashboards and reports for leadershipAct as primary point of contact for asset-related escalationsCollaborate with infrastructure, security, finance, and procurement teamsKey Skills & Competencies

ITAM / SAM tools: ServiceNow, Flexera, Snow, BMCCloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP (cost & usage management)Licensing knowledge: Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP, VMwareCMDB and discovery toolsFinancial modeling and reporting (Excel, Power BI)Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, Finance, or related fieldITIL v4, ITAM, SAM, or FinOps certification (preferred)Cloud cost management or vendor licensing certifications (preferred)Experience
8–12+ years in IT infrastructure, asset management, or IT operations3–5+ years in a lead or managerial role
