Infrastructure Analyst IV
Are you ready to join a growing team? CTG is seeking to fill an Infrastructure Analyst IV opening for our client. Location: Buffalo, NY Duration: 12 months Overview: The Infrastructure Analyst IV completes activities related to larger and/or more complex installations, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware, software, and related infrastructure. This role ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and associated procedures adhere to organizational standards and values, enabling staff and partners to perform effectively. The role also provides guidance and training to less experienced staff. Primary Responsibilities: Respond to and resolve complex help desk escalations. Analyze system issues, create trending information, and collaborate with partner teams to identify variables and support issue resolution. Create, initiate, and document procedures for work order, request-based, and maintenance tasks. Resolve technical incidents requiring expert-level problem-solving based on deep system and inter-system knowledge. Utilize advanced diagnostic tools to troubleshoot and resolve issues. Perform system maintenance activities in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including patching, health checks, operating system updates, change validation, and configuration management. Research and evaluate options when anomalies occur and determine the best course of action. Schedule and implement maintenance changes to reduce operational risk. Participate in cross-functional project work; lead technical efforts within projects and contribute to design activities. Provide training and mentoring to less experienced staff. Perform scheduled evening responsibilities as required. Leverage tools and automation to improve system efficiency, manageability, availability, and security. Provide recommendations and resolve complex issues within established practices. Support capacity planning and long-term strategic system and software initiatives in collaboration with Engineering and Architecture teams. Adhere to company risk and regulatory standards, policies, and controls; identify and escalate risk-related issues as appropriate. Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand. Maintain internal control standards, including timely implementation of audit findings and regulatory requirements. Perform other related duties as assigned. Scope of Responsibilities: This role supports enterprise infrastructure environments, contributes to strategic initiatives, and provides expert-level operational support while ensuring compliance with organizational, regulatory, and risk management standards. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibilities; however, the role provides technical leadership, guidance, and mentoring to less experienced staff and may lead technical workstreams within projects. Education and Experience Required: Experience with ServiceNow modules EA, HAM, and SAM, and strong knowledge of CSDM principles. Experience supporting IT Asset Management maturity and migration efforts using ServiceNow. Strong business, technical, and data analytics skills. Excellent communication and documentation skills. Minimum of 8 years of combined higher education and/or relevant work experience. Prior experience reading, analyzing, and applying technical documentation. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Experience interpreting and explaining complex or unfamiliar technical concepts. Strong customer focus with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Prior project management experience. Education and Experience Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field. Certifications or specialized training in relevant technologies. Prior experience leading technical teams or workstreams toward a common goal within larger projects. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
