Industrial Technician
**Industrial Technician | Sun- Tues 5:30pm-6:00am | 30.80/hr** **Job Description** This role requires an individual to work on a shift schedule from Sunday to Tuesday and every other Saturday, from 5:30 PM to 6:00 AM. The Industrial Technician will be responsible for initiating systems and monitoring their operation, ensuring that gauges and instruments are read accurately and mechanisms are adjusted to control fluid levels, pressure, and temperature within systems. The role also involves maintaining refrigeration systems, steam generation, compressed air, hot water, treated water, glycol, and other systems. Additionally, the technician will use knowledge of water chemistry to service equipment and monitor utilities used by the building, responding promptly to emergency calls regarding refrigeration on the production floor. **Responsibilities** + Start systems and monitor their operation. + Read gauges and instruments; adjust mechanisms to control fluid levels, pressure, and temperature. + Maintain proper functioning of refrigeration systems, steam generation, compressed air, hot water, treated water, glycol, and other systems. + Use knowledge of water chemistry for equipment maintenance. + Monitor utilities used by the building. + Respond to emergency calls regarding refrigeration on the production floor. + Ensure continued production operation as it relates to refrigeration equipment, utilities, and HVAC equipment. + Dismantle malfunctioning systems and test components using electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic testing equipment. + Troubleshoot, adjust, and/or repair utility systems equipment as problems or deviations occur. + Perform pipefitting and plumbing repairs. + Repair/rebuild pumps, valves, regulators, traps, fans, etc. + Perform other duties as assigned. **Essential Skills** + Boiler operation + HVAC maintenance + Compressor operation + Plumbing skills + Facilities maintenance + Preventive maintenance + Refrigeration knowledge + Generator operation + Low pressure systems + Cooling tower management + Ammonia refrigeration systems + Mechanical troubleshooting + Repair and installation skills + EPA universal certification + Water treatment knowledge **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + State of Ohio, High Pressure Boiler Operator or Third-Class Stationary Engineer License is a plus. + Manufacturing experience preferred. + Associate must have at least 3 years of experience in the operation, repair, and maintenance of boilers, refrigeration, HVAC, and utility equipment/systems. + Experience in ammonia refrigeration and electrical controls preferred. + EPA refrigerant recovery certification preferred. + HAZMAT training certification preferred (will train). + Must be willing and able to participate on a HAZMAT team. + Legible handwriting with attention to detail. + Ability to climb stairs and stand for long periods of time. + Ability to detect and understand warning lights, buzzers, alarms, or instruments indicating hazardous conditions or circumstances. + Must observe good manufacturing practices (GMPs). + Must follow safety rules and procedures. **Why Work Here?** Employees benefit from opportunities for growth and camaraderie within the department. Training for new candidates occurs during the day for 4-8 weeks. The assigned shift includes working 12 hours per day on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and every other Wednesday (7 AM-7 PM), with some daily and weekend overtime.
