Industrial Painter
**Description** Painter/Apoxy 1. Use a wet film thickness (WFT) gauge for coating applications, as it is mandatory for all painters at PPS Coatings. 2. Surface Preparation: • Inspect and evaluate surfaces to identify imperfections, defects, or damages. • Remove old paint, dirt, or debris using appropriate methods such as sanding, scraping, or pressure washing. • Repair cracks, holes, or other surface imperfections using filling materials, caulking, or putty. • Apply masking materials to protect adjacent areas from paint overspray or drips 3. Paint Application: • Mix and match paint colors according to project specifications and client preferences. • Apply primer, paint, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment, ensuring even and smooth coverage. • Monitor drying times and apply additional coats as needed, ensuring proper adhesion and finish. 4. Cleanup and Maintenance: • Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment to ensure longevity and proper functioning. • Dispose of waste materials and solvents in accordance with local regulations and company guidelines. • Leave the worksite clean and debris-free upon completion of each project. 5. Ability to identify and achieve SP-1,2,3,5,6,7,10,11,13,15 2. Ability to blast 150 sq/ft to an SP-10 in 1 hour 3. Demonstrate knowledge of how to check the circumference of the nozzle for wear and determine its suitability for use. 4. Demonstrates knowledge to perform and explain a preventative maintenance check/inspection on test blast hose. (blown gasket, cracked coupler, soft spots etc.) 5. Troubleshoot and repair field equipment (Blast pot, Dust collector, Vacuum, etc.) Painter 1. Demonstrates ability to coat 1000 sqft with 2% or less rework in 1 hour, with no holidays 2. Demonstrates ability to set up, tear down, and clean Paint Application Equipment properly 3. Demonstrate knowledge of what the numbers on an Airless Spray Tip signify 4. Demonstrates ability to mix coatings correctly according to provided data sheets 5. Demonstrates basic knowledge of how to operate and repair Plural Machine 6. Demonstrates knowledge to perform and explain a preventative maintenance check/inspection on pumps, hoses and guns 7. Demonstrates ability to identify coating defects and how to correct them 8. Demonstrates ability to calculate required WFT needed to achieve a desired DFT 9. Demonstrates ability to measure WFT using wet film gauge Bonus if they have experience applying Saureisin, Tnemec, Raven or Sherwin Williams products All are 100% solids paint that are applied by a plural pump or trowel. $24hr **Experience Level** Intermediate Level **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
