**Job Title: Industrial Painter**
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Painter for our 2nd shift facilities and equipment team. The role involves laying out work, setting up equipment for surface preparation, and determining the type of paint and best application methods to achieve optimal finishes according to design specifications and schedules. Training will initially take place on the 1st shift before moving to the 2nd shift. Candidates must demonstrate efficient resource usage to minimize scrap, materials, and labor.
Responsibilities
+ Perform work surface preparation, paint removal, and select appropriate fillers for holes, cracks, and joints.
+ Conduct pre-mixed paint selection and paint preparation by mixing pigments, oils, thinners, and drying substances for consistency and viscosity.
+ Work at heights for painting walls, ceilings, and large vessels.
+ Select, set up, adjust, and operate equipment to meet specifications.
+ Utilize all facility spray equipment to maximize coverage and durability.
+ Plan the painting sequence and necessary equipment.
+ Adhere strictly to company ISO guidelines, safety procedures, and maintain accurate daily labor reports.
+ Supply own hand tools as per published list.
+ Familiarize with equipment, safety aspects like lockout/tagout, confined space entry, and proper ventilation.
+ Operate overhead cranes, fork trucks, and other equipment safely.
+ Perform upkeep and cleaning of equipment, and store excess materials properly.
+ Maintain housekeeping standards in compliance with company policies.
+ Collaborate with supervision and leadmen to accomplish tasks and assist others as needed.
Essential Skills
+ Experience with forced air painting or in an auto body shop.
+ Aptitude for paint mixing and preparation.
+ Ability to work at heights and operate facility spray equipment.
+ Understanding of safety protocols and equipment operations.
+ Proficiency in using hand tools and maintaining equipment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bilingual in English/Spanish is a plus.
+ Trainable attitude and pride in workmanship.
+ Experience in paint manufacturing or automotive painting is advantageous.

Work Environment
Work in a clean, organized, and well-lit facility, with a union work environment. The job requires working Monday to Friday, with potential Saturday hours. Training occurs on the 1st shift from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, and the 2nd shift operates from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm. Shifts may vary based on seniority rules, and employees receive a shift premium upon conversion to full-time status. The environment may be hot during summer months.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cherry Valley, Illinois.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $27.15 - $27.15/hr.
