Job Description

As a Painter, you will prime, paint, and touch up vehicles using power spray equipment and brushes. You'll be responsible for masking, unmasking, or adjusting masking as required to meet specifications, as well as cleaning, washing, and conditioning parts. Light bodywork may be needed. Additionally, you'll disassemble, clean, repair, adjust, and reassemble painting equipment for proper operation, flush tanks, hoses, and guns before color changes, and mix paints to achieve the correct color, formula, viscosity, and consistency. The role involves performing titrations and adjusting chemicals, applying decals, stencils, and rust-proofing, maintaining the work area and equipment, inspecting products to ensure specifications are met, and transporting parts using material handling equipment.

ResponsibilitiesPrime, paint, and touch up vehicles using power spray equipment and brushes.Mask, unmask, or adjust masking to ensure specifications are met.Clean, wash, and condition parts as necessary; light bodywork may be required.Disassemble, clean, repair, adjust, and reassemble painting equipment for proper operation.Flush tanks, hoses, and guns prior to color changeovers.Mix all types of paints for proper color, formula, conditions, viscosity, and consistency.Perform titrations and mix or adjust chemicals as necessary in paint processes.Apply decals, stencils, and rust-proofing as required.Maintain work area and equipment, including preventative maintenance tasks.Inspect product before, during, and after the paint process to ensure specifications are met.Transport, move, or guide parts before, during, or after the paint process using material handling equipment.Essential Skills1+ year of painting experience in automotive or heavy vehicle/equipment in a manufacturing, industrial, or automotive body shop.Strong mathematical skills.Basic mechanical aptitude.Why Work Here

This position offers a comprehensive benefits package and includes a shift differential of $1.75 for 2nd or 3rd shifts. Full-time employees are eligible for a sign-on bonus of $1,500, distributed over the first year of employment. This is a supportive environment where individuals can work both independently and collaboratively.

Work Environment

The work environment includes inside paint booths with a strong paint odor and a hot atmosphere. Painters are required to wear a full paint suit and respirator, and the dress code includes jeans, steel toes, and a clean work shirt. Candidates must not have facial hair to ensure a proper fit for the respirator. Minimal overtime is currently scheduled, with expectations of 40-45 hours per week once fully staffed.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $47320.00 - $54912.00/yr.
