Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Machine Operator to set up and operate heading machinery to forge heads on steel rods, which are essential for producing large anchor bolts and fasteners for the construction industry. The role involves heating the steel rod ends to 2000 degrees Fahrenheit using induction heating coils, and subsequently placing them in a heading machine to form hex heads. Additionally, inspecting the cooled finished parts for quality is a crucial part of the job. You will be provided with personal protective equipment, including special gloves, safety glasses, and ear plugs. The position requires the ability to lift up to 50 lbs throughout the day, as the rods are handled manually and can be heavy.

Work Environment
The work environment is very clean for a machine shop and housed in an enclosed but uninsulated building/pole barn. It can get cooler in winter and warmer in summer. The shop maintains a friendly and laid-back atmosphere. Regular swing shift hours are from 2:30 PM to 11 PM, Monday to Friday, with initial training scheduled from 6 AM to 2:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.50 - $24.50/hr.
