**Job Title: Industrial Forklift Operator**
**Job Description**
We are seeking skilled candidates to operate a sit-down forklift with a capacity of 30,000 lbs and utilize an overhead crane to transport parts and raw materials to Fitters/Welders. The role includes supplying the Paint department and other areas with finished products, moving products within the paint department, and unloading trucks using an overhead crane and forklift.
**Responsibilities**
+ Utilize sit-down forklift and overhead crane to transport parts and raw materials.
+ Supply Paint department and other areas with finished products.
+ Assist in the paint department by moving products.
+ Unload trucks using overhead crane and forklift.
+ Work in the yard to move and offload large pieces of steel.
+ Be flexible to work across multiple departments and cross-train as needed.
+ Read and interpret Bills of Lading to determine products to pull and quantities.
**Essential Skills**

+ Overhead crane experience.
+ Ability to read and interpret Bills of Lading.
+ Comfortable working outside.
+ Certified on heavy industrial equipment.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ 1-2 years of experience as a forklift operator in a heavy industrial environment.
+ Crane operating experience is preferred.
+ Experience with 30k lb lift forklifts.
+ Cross-trained as a painter is advantageous.

**Work Environment**
The position is located in a steel fabrication shop with overhead cranes throughout the facility. It is a non-climate controlled environment, requiring comfort with hot and cold conditions. Safety is prioritized, with steel toe boots and safety glasses required. The role involves supporting the yard and the paint department, working a minimum of 50 hours per week with mandatory overtime, and one Saturday per month for a 6-hour shift.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, Virginia.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
