At a Glance

 

Focal Point has an immediate opening for an Industrial Engineering Technician in our Product Development team!  The role will be hands-on and dynamic day to day with a focus on enabling quick design decisions for product development activities and production support.

This individual will assist the organization by designing and developing manufacturing workstations, assisting in implementation of jigs/fixtures and training on new processes, and supporting the assigned manufacturing department in on-going product support.  He/she will aid the Product Development process by training the Assembly, Paint, and Fabrication departments on the production processes, handling, and storage for new products and parts. This position will work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment while being efficient and quality driven. Business and work hours are 8:00am-5:00pm with flexibility for overtime, as needed.

 

 

What Will You Do?

 

Responsibilities:

Support the launch of new and updated products by owning new product development and engineering change activities related to production, including the setup of manufacturing work areas, creation of jigs and fixtures, and training operatorsWork with Industrial Engineering and Operations teams to determine and implement production processes for new products and engineering changes and create work instructionsAssist in the validation of new and updated product designs by creating mockups and test samples, coordinating prototype and pilot builds, and collecting production feedbackFacilitate manufacturing systems setup by performing time studies and creating production routingsInvestigate and scope requirements for engineering changes and manufacturing issuesProactively identify opportunities for improvements and drive communication between the teams involved in product designs and launches Qualifications

Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or equivalent from a technical school Proficient with hand tools and can demonstrate practical experience through past work or academic projectsBasic knowledge of 3D CAD software. SolidWorks preferredProficient in the use of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and ExcelExperience with Assembly processesWorking knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles preferredBilingual in English and Spanish, preferred but not requiredSalary Range: $45,000 - $55,000 starting base plus bonusSummary of Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, PTO, Disability, Parental Leave, 401K w/ company match Company Info
