An organization within Northrop Grumman’s Intelligence Systems division, Mission Enabling Products is a leading designer, producer, and supplier of spacecraft components that power and enable satellites of all classes. Products include spacecraft panels, bus structures, precision optical structures, deployable structural systems and mechanisms, solar arrays, and antenna reflectors. Our products are on virtually every U.S. satellite built in the last 20 years. Our Deployables Operating Unit is seeking an Industrial Engineering Manager 2 to support operations for the Goleta and Oxnard, CA facilities. This position may be located at either site.

**Overview**
Reporting to the Director of Operations, the Industrial Engineering Manager is responsible for modernizing and innovating the manufacturing and operations practices of the Deployables OU to achieve strategic objectives. This position will be responsible for continuous improvement efforts, capacity and manpower modeling, capital expenditure projects, and factory planning projects aligned with business strategies. This position will contribute and be responsible for the completion of organizational projects and goals.
**Role and Responsibilities:**
+ Accountable for ensuring program milestones and performance goals are achieved through the continuous improvement process, from identification of opportunities for improvement, to test and evaluate solutions, safety, quality, delivery and cost expectations of internal and external customers
+ Achieve operational objectives by contributing recommendations and subject matter expertise to strategic action plans and reviews; implement production, productivity, and quality standard initiatives
+ Provide technical input supporting program and production plans, proposals and initiatives
+ Provide technical and leadership support to the Industrial Engineering team, providing object-oriented direction and development through mentoring and coaching
+ Manage matrixed facility professionals engaged in a variety of tasks associated with the facility operations of the Deployables sites, spare parts support, equipment maintenance and capital projects
+ Analyze and provide recommendations for the acquisition of capital assets and related funding allocations
+ Direct the development, release and maintenance of manufacturing requirements and work sequence plans, consistent with program scheduling objectives
+ Develop and maintain applicable labor and resource requirements plans and utilization reports
+ Apply advanced engineering methods and models to develop optimal process designs and efficient utilization of resources
**Basic Qualifications**
+ Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with eight years’ experience performing Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering functions
+ Experience leading Continuous Improvement and/or Lean initiatives resulting in cost savings/cost avoidance
+ Proven experience leading teams or projects
+ Strong knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and Lean Agile methodologies
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Project, and Power Point
+ Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with senior leadership on a technical level
+ US Citizenship is required
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or other Engineering discipline
+ Six Sigma or other Lean certification
+ Demonstrated experience as an “agent of change” through hands-on implementation of Lean, continuous improvement, TPS, TOC, etc.
+ Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (SAP or Cost-Point etc.)
+ Experience with multiple program environments utilizing common infrastructure and facilities
Primary Level Salary Range: $133,100.00 - $199,700.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
