Job Description
The Industrial Engineer will play a pivotal role in improving manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality enhancement, and efficiency. This position involves developing and promoting training classes, analyzing time study data to enhance line balance and manpower efficiency, and understanding Kanban flow's impact on material flow. The engineer will participate in problem-solving and troubleshooting, carry out special assignments, and perform motion kaizen on all processes.
Responsibilities
Develop, promote, and teach training classes.Improve manufacturing processes and methods for cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.Collect and analyze time study data to improve line balance and manpower efficiency.Follow operations through detailed steps or processes.Perform portions of broader assignments of an experienced engineer.Conduct motion kaizen on all processes.Identify ways to reduce inventory levels of components, work-in-process, and finished products.Understand and apply Kanban flow and its effect on material flow.Build and install racks, indications, and visual tools.Create accurate design drawings.Participate in problem-solving and troubleshooting.Carry out special assignments and projects delegated by management.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential Skills
Knowledge of TIE policies, procedures, and terms.Basic Toyota Production System (TPS) knowledge.Experience implementing continuous improvement principles.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3 – 5 years’ experience, or 5-7 years experience in industrial manufacturing improvement program without a degree.Proficiency in office software applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.Experience in automotive manufacturing environment.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience managing projects related to new equipment or line installs.Ability to create basic design drawings.Work Environment
The position is based in an automotive plastic injection molding facility, which manufactures small plastic pieces for fuel pumps in the automotive industry. The facility is clean compared to other automotive environments and is a significant employer in Mt. Sterling. The role requires a 50/50 split between desk work and floor duties, with work conducted in training rooms and on the floor as needed. The work schedule is from 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $78000.00 - $88000.00/yr.
