We are seeking an innovative Industrial Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and promoting training classes, improving manufacturing processes for cost-reduction and quality enhancement, and enhancing overall efficiency. You will collect and analyze time study data to optimize line balance and manpower efficiency and follow operations through detailed processes.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and teach training classes to promote industrial engineering practices.Enhance manufacturing processes and methods to achieve cost-reduction, quality improvement, and efficiency.Collect and analyze time study data to improve line balance and manpower efficiency.Follow operations through a series of related detailed steps or processes.Perform specific portions of broader assignments of an experienced engineer.Execute motion kaizen on all processes.Identify and implement ways to reduce inventory levels of components, work-in-process, and finished products.Understand Kanban flow and its effect on the flow of materials.Build and install various racks, indications, and visual tools.Create accurate design drawings for Kaizen objects.Participate in problem-solving and troubleshooting activities.Carry out special assignments and projects as delegated by management.Perform other duties as assigned.Essential SkillsExperience in the automotive industry.Proficiency in time studies, continuous improvement, and Kaizen methodologies.Knowledge of industrial engineering principles.Experience with AutoCAD, lean manufacturing, and Six Sigma.Strong process improvement and design skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of TIE policies, procedures, and terms.Basic understanding of the Toyota Production System.Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 3–5 years’ experience, or 5–7 years of experience without a degree in industrial manufacturing improvement programs.Project management and planning skills.Proficiency in office software applications, especially Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.Ability to create basic design drawings.Work EnvironmentThe position is based in an automotive plastic injection molding facility that manufactures small plastic pieces for fuel pumps. The facility is notably clean compared to other automotive environments and is a significant employer in Mt. Sterling. The role requires a 50/50 split between desk work and floor duties, with a work schedule of 8:00 AM to 4:45 PM. You will have your own desk and also work in training rooms and on the floor, depending on the duties.
