Job Description
Responsible for the safe, efficient, and quality-conscious installation, maintenance, and modification of electrical systems related to terminal operations. Ensure all work consistently meets or exceeds expectations and adheres to published policies and procedures.
ResponsibilitiesCalibrate and perform preventive maintenance on electrical/electronic equipment and components.Troubleshoot and repair malfunctioning electrical/electronic equipment and components.Test electrical systems and continuity in wiring, equipment, and fixtures to ensure system compatibility and safety.Perform routine troubleshooting activities with electrical systems and electronics.Coordinate with manufacturer representatives regarding current procedures and requirements.Complete documentation and paperwork; maintain upkeep of maintenance files.Respond to emergency call-outs for maintenance duties.Perform all work in compliance with company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.Execute any other terminal functions as trained, requested, and instructed by supervision.Essential SkillsMinimum of 5 years demonstrated work experience in the instrumentation/electrical field.Thorough knowledge and application of EH&S and Preventive Maintenance procedures and programs.Working knowledge of high/medium and low voltage power systems and equipment, as well as various instrumentation and control devices.Ability to read E&I diagrams and drawings.Proficiency with power tools, hand tools, and measuring equipment.Basic computer proficiency.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with controls, PLCs, motors, and actuators preferred.Ability to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair various electrical/electronic equipment and components.Demonstrated aptitude to execute customer orders and maintain necessary records.Must be able to obtain and maintain a TWIC (not required).Why Work Here?

Work outdoors in shipping terminals, often in dirty conditions and near coal. Be prepared for rain or shine and long hours.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, Virginia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $41.00/hr.
