We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced indirect tax manager to join our Corporate Finance Team. Reporting to the Associate Director, Indirect Tax, the role will play a crucial role in ensuring the company complies with all indirect tax regulations.

This role is ideal for someone with strong VAT advisory experience, a solid understanding of EU VAT rules, a hands-on approach to managing VAT-related projects and an experienced team manager. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving VAT process improvements, ensuring compliance, and supporting strategic initiatives across the business.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Compliance & Reporting

Manage end‑to‑end VAT compliance, including preparation, review, and filing of VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, Intrastat, SAF‑T, and other local indirect tax filings as applicable.

Ensure timely and accurate VAT reporting across all jurisdictions in scope.

Oversee VAT account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Technical Advisory

Provide VAT technical advice on business transactions, including cross‑border supplies, supply chain changes, new product launches, and system or process changes.

Interpret and apply VAT legislation, guidance, and case law to business activities.

Support indirect tax aspects of contracts, pricing, and customer/vendor agreements.

Audit & Controversy

Act as the primary point of contact for VAT audits and inquiries from tax authorities.

Coordinate responses to information requests, manage assessments, and support appeals where required.

Partner with external advisors on audits, rulings, and complex technical matters.

Process Improvement & Systems

Drive continuous improvement of VAT processes, controls, and documentation.

Support ERP, tax engine, or digital reporting implementations and enhancements (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Vertex, Avalara).

Ensure compliance with digital VAT requirements such as e‑invoicing and real‑time reporting where applicable.

Business Partnership

Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, IT, and Commercial teams to embed VAT‑compliant processes.

Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on VAT requirements and best practices.

Support M&A activity, including due diligence and post‑integration VAT considerations.

People & Governance

Manage and develop junior team members, if applicable.

Maintain VAT risk assessments, controls, and internal documentation.

Monitor legislative changes and assess business impact.

QUALIFICATIONS

University degree in Tax, Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Solid accounting skill is a big plus.

Minimum 5 years of experience in VAT advisory, preferably also experience as an in-house VAT manager in multinational company

Strong knowledge of EU VAT legislation and compliance frameworks.

Excellent collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills.

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Result-oriented with a proactive, can-do mindset.

Strong analytical and communication skills.

Fluent in English; additional European languages are a plus.

Solid knowledge of SAP and tax engine such as Taxmarc is a plus.
