About the Team:
Join our pioneering engineering team building an AI assistant platform for smart TVs. You will lead critical software development efforts spanning embedded Linux clients on TVs and cloud services on Azure Linux, driving delivery of a cutting-edge product integrating LLM-powered tool invocation and content search.
What you'll do :
Contribute to the development of an AI assistant for TVs, working on both client-side Linux components and cloud backend services on Azure. You will implement features, fix bugs, and collaborate on integrating AI capabilities and content search functionality.Develop, test, and maintain Python code for TV client and cloud services.Assist in integrating AI tool calling logic and improving tool selection accuracy.Collaborate with other engineers and teams to integrate external content search services.Participate in troubleshooting and support activities post product launch.Follow coding standards, participate in code reviews, and contribute to CI/CD workflows.What You’ll Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline. 5+ years software development experience in Python.Experience working on Linux-based systems (client or server).Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred, AWS experience acceptable with willingness to learn Azure).Understanding of REST APIs, microservices, and database interactions. Interest or basic knowledge in AI/ML concepts, LLMs, or vector search is a plus.Good communication skills and ability to work in a distributed team environment.Strong debugging skills and attention to detail.Design and implement multilingual support (Spanish, French, Mandarin) within the AI assistant to enable natural language understanding and response in these languages.Integrate speech-to-text (STT) capabilities to capture user voice input and stream digital audio to the TV client.Collaborate with AI and audio teams to ensure accurate and low-latency speech recognition across supported languages.Optimize the system for multilingual natural language processing and seamless audio streaming on Linux TV clients.Experience or interest in multilingual NLP and internationalization (i18n) best practices.Familiarity with speech-to-text technologies, audio streaming protocols, or media pipelines.Ability to work with audio codecs, Linux audio subsystems, and streaming frameworks is a plus.About Walmart Global Tech
