Job Description & Summary: As an Entry Level Transport Planner specializing in microsimulation modelling and traffic analysis, you will play a crucial role in supporting our transportation planning and engineering projects. You will work closely with managers and colleagues to develop, calibrate, and validate traffic models, analyze traffic patterns, and contribute to the development of sustainable and efficient transport solutions.
Responsibilities:
Transport Modelling:
Assist in the development and calibration of demand models (VISUM) and microsimulation models using software such as VISSIM, Aimsun, or similar platforms.
Conduct traffic simulations to evaluate the performance of existing and proposed transportation systems.
Analyze results to identify traffic flow patterns, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement.
Traffic Analysis:
Collect, process, and analyze traffic data from various sources, including field surveys, traffic counts, and big data.
Perform capacity analysis, level-of-service assessments, and intersection analysis .
Support the development of traffic impact studies and reports for transportation projects.
Data Management and Reporting:
Supervise sub-contractors in conducting primary surveys
Maintain organized and accurate records of modelling data, assumptions, and results.
Prepare clear and concise technical reports, presentations, and visualizations to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders.
Assist in the preparation of proposals, project plans, and documentation.
Collaboration and Support:
Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including planners, engineers, and GIS specialists, to deliver integrated transportation solutions.
Provide technical support and assistance to senior modellers and project managers as needed.
Participate in team meetings, workshops, and training sessions to enhance your skills and knowledge.
