The Immunology Lead reports directly to the Global Head of Early-Stage Immunology (ESI), Global Immunology (GI), Sanofi Vaccines R&D. This role provides overall strategic leadership and direction for immunology projects to evaluate the potential of novel and early-stage vaccine candidates.
The Immunology Lead may lead projects based in Marcy L’Etoile (France), Waltham or Orlando (US).
The Immunology Lead is appointed to lead projects within their area of immunology expertise.
Working within a global environment driven by scientific excellence presents significant challenges. The Immunology Lead directs the development of multiple projects across different locations, leading immunology within GI and Group Project Teams. This role requires the individual to coordinate with various functions and convincingly defend the immunology strategy to the Group Project Team. The Immunology Lead demonstrates solid and recognized scientific expertise, strategic vision and collaboration skills to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics.

**Main Responsibilities:**
**Overall leadership and accountability for project immunology strategies:**
+ Lead the development of one or multiple projects within their area of immunology expertise, with accountability for vaccine image and vaccination strategies
+ Define the projectimmunologystrategy in close collaboration with the Group Project Teamincluding Global Antigen Design (GAD)and consistently integrating innovative approaches
+ Co-develop the experimental design plan and work closely with Team Members throughout project execution
+ Participate in the interpretationof assay results and oversee data integration within the global project framework
+ Present the assay results to several decision-making committees withinGI and Vaccines R&D
+ Define and monitorthe project timeline and budget(incl. OPEX, FTEs), liaising with the Project Manager
+ Conduct the reporting of project activities and Key Project Indicators (KPIs) under their accountability and contribute toproject team or sub team meetings to ensure effective communication and coordination
+ Proactively alertthe Group Project Head to any issues and delays and propose a mitigation plan to minimize impact
+ Establisha real time feedback and solution loop withTeam Members and the Group Project Team
+ Participate in the evaluation of Team Members andorganize team building activities to enhance team cohesion and celebrate success
**Provide scientific and innovative** **expertise in their field:**
+ Ensure state-of-the-art scientific and innovative expertise in their field through comprehensive literature review, brainstorming, networking and participation in scientific conferencesand forums
+ Consider and evaluate the potential use of Artificial Intelligence and other digital tools
+ Actively participatein transversal learning hubs, bringing together and leveragingexpertise from other Immunology Leadsand Principal Scientists working on similar immunological themes
**Represent ESI in the broader organization:**
+ Serve as the functional interface between ESI and other departments (incl. GI, GAD, mRNA Center of Excellence, Group Project Management, Global Regulatory Affairs, Intellectual Property) and coordinate work with their counterparts
+ Defend ideas and concepts to the GroupProject Team and instill confidence in stakeholders in ESI ability to deliver the expected outcomes
+ Contribute to ESI internal and external visibility strategies through publishing and active participation in R&D Week, Town Halls and international conferences
+ Identify and promote scientific key topics to be communicated to GI and Vaccines R&D, ensuring that the latest advancements and insights are effectively shared
**About You:**

**Education:**
+ PhDin Immunology, Microbiologyor related Life Sciences with proven experience as a Principal Investigator or Postdoctoral Researcher and a strong publication record
**Experience:**
+ 3 to 5 years of experience in Immunology and Vaccines R&D, including experience as a Principal Investigator or Postdoctoral Researcher
+ State-of-the-art techniques in Immunology, Human Immunology, preclinical models and regulatory knowledge, project management _(depending on the position, specific skills can be_ _required_ _)_
+ Strategic vision, creativity and innovation, critical thinking,influence and challenge, patient and customer focus, decision-making,project-centric and deliverable-oriented, transversalcollaboration, scientific communication
**Languages:**
+ English, knowledge of French will be reviewed favorably

The salary range for this position is:
$147,000.00 - $212,333.33
All compensation will be determined commensurate with demonstrated experience. Employees may be eligible to participate in Company employee benefit programs.
