Key job responsibilities • Risk Assessment. The role is responsible for documenting risk associated with U.S. immigration. This includes: o Engage with internal Legal and external counsel to review U.S. risks and update the risk framework. o Execute and assess control efficacy and continually feed results into risk framework. o Own and document U.S. compliance controls. o Engage internal Legal and internal US subject matter experts to prioritize risks for control development. o Identify, develop, and continually improve key performance indicators that quantify adherence against immigration obligations. o Run monthly cross-functional meetings to inform leadership of changes in U.S. risks and drive to completion projects to reduce risk. • Audit response: o Maintain documents including corporate front desk protocols and PAF retrieval SOPs. o Conduct and maintain training for corporate front desk staff nationally. o Engage with four separate security organizations to implement and maintain response protocols. o Lead responder to FDNS visits and Interested Party PAF requests. o Conduct audits to assess Public Access Files (PAF) and PERM Audit File completeness. A day in the life The Immigration Specialist, U.S. Compliance is responsible for the identification and mitigation of regulatory risk within the U.S. immigration program and for ensuring the program’s risk framework is continually refreshed. The role will partner with internal Legal and external counsel to keep informed of new executive orders, proclamations, and regulatory changes as well as evolving adjudication standards to ensure programmatic and employee impact is properly quantified. The individual will also execute and assess efficacy of controls to identify areas for improvement and incorporate findings back into the risk framework. The Immigration Specialist role is responsible for ensuring Amazon timely and successfully responds to Fraud Detection and National Security (FDNS) site visits as well as for audits and requests related to Department of Labor mandated Public Access Files (PAFs) or Labor Certification Audit Files. This will require the individual to engage with leadership of corporate office front desk staff, four separate security organizations, as well as a talent acquisition team to ensure continual response training and compliant document retention practices are followed. The Immigration Specialist will also own all documentation, protocols, and SOPs related to government visits and audits, including continuous improvement of these areas. This role will lead cross functional teams in conducing mock audits and quality assurance audits to ensure that all document retention obligations are met. The base pay for this position ranges from $57,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $123,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
