Job Title: 5 Axis CNC Machinist/Operator
Job Description

We are seeking skilled 5 Axis CNC Machinists/Operators to join our team on the 2nd or 3rd shifts. You will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of 5 and 3 axis machines, cutters, and work holding tools to produce precision parts.

ResponsibilitiesSet up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.Calculate dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers or calipers and portable CMM or FARO.Machine parts to specifications using 5 & 3 axis machines.Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials onto machines per setup documentation.Measure, examine, or test completed parts to check for defects and ensure conformance to customer specifications using precision instruments.Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformance.Operate equipment to verify operational efficiency.Diagnose machine tool malfunctions to determine need for adjustments or repairs.Collaborate with engineering, supervisory, or inspection personnel to verify technical information.Fit and assemble fixtures and cutters to make or repair customer product.Dispose of scrap or waste material in accordance with company policies and environmental regulations.Evaluate machining procedures and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency or adaptability per Kaizen process.Essential SkillsActive Learning: Understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.Active Listening: Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made.Critical Thinking: Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions.Reading Comprehension: Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents.Mathematics: Using mathematics to solve problems.Science: Using scientific rules and methods to solve problems.Speaking: Talking to others to convey information effectively.Writing: Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.Complex Problem Solving: Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent.1-2 years of experience running 3, 4, and 5 axis numerical control machines is preferred.Experience with Mazak, 4 Axis, 5 Axis, Set-up, G&M codes, Fanuc Controls, Haas Controls, Haas Mill, Height Gauges, Micrometers, Calipers.Specific model operating Vortex i-630V experience is an advantage.Experience with Siemens Controls.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

You will work in a machine shop environment focusing on aerospace, military, and space projects. The 2nd shift runs Monday-Thursday from 4:15pm-2:45am, and the 3rd shift operates Friday-Sunday from 4am-4:30pm. New employees will undergo training for approximately 6-8 weeks before moving to the designated shift. If the 3rd shift employee works all three full days, they receive an extra four hours as comp time.

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $52000.00/yr.
